Without a knowledgeable guide, information, particularly in the field of nutrition, can quickly create a great deal of confusion.

My Approach
Most people are confused by all of the conflicting nutritional programs and dietary information available today. I help sort out the facts. Since there is no diet that is right for everyone, my approach is very individualized. I teach clients how to make the transition from the standard American diet to a natural foods diet that will support and improve their health. I work with my clients as partners in health, helping them achieve realistic goals through positive lifestyle and dietary changes.

Heal Yourself with Food
Balanced, healthy meals are the basis of your nutritional program. What we eat and how we digest and absorb our food has a profound effect on our physical health, our energy level and our moods. I focus on the underlying cause of health problems and how proper nutrition can strengthen areas of weakness and reverse tendencies toward disease. I try to integrate the best aspects of many different nutritional approaches, and tailor this to the individual.

While not caught up in any particular nutritional dogma, I am a strong advocate of whole, natural, organic foods, minimally processed and free of chemicals and artificial preservatives.

Lab Testing
I work with a number of labs that do specialty testing to assess nutritional status, toxic exposures, gastrointestinal function and hormone balance. If appropriate I may recommend lab tests.

A Word about Supplements
I often recommend supplements in the form of vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, digestive enzymes, herbs and amino acids, when appropriate. The right supplement can have a profound effect on preventive health and healing. I have extensive knowledge of nutritional supplements, having used them in my practice for many years, and having worked as a consultant to several professional nutraceutical companies. Supplements are still an unregulated industry, and you will benefit by receiving expert advice in this area.
